Bungee Jumping is a Great Starter for Extreme Sports

Many people try all kinds of sports in their lifetime. Some are more extreme than others. Bungee jumping has been around for a long time and many people do it for fun. You have probably had the opportunity to go or been asked by friends or family to participate. Even if it is something you aren’t into, it is guaranteed that you most likely have a friend that is.
Bungee jumping is where a person jumps off a stationary object with a large elastic cord. The object is normally a building, bridge, or crane. It is possible to jump from a moving object such as a helicopter or hot air balloon as well. However, this may be something you want to try after getting use to a basic bungee jump.
As the person jumps, the elastic cord stretches. They go back up when the cord snaps and this continues until the energy of motion is gone. Once the jump is over, a crane will normally lift them safely to the ground. Other retrieval methods may be used also.
Commercial facilities use a braided elastic rope which is very durable and makes the bounce harder. When bungee jumping first started an ankle support was the only support used. This was found to cause serious injury. Now a body harness is used in conjunction with it for more support.
Bungee jumping has been around for a long time and it has been fine tuned to be safe and fun when an experienced company is used. They should keep their equipment maintained and this will ensure that every jump is successful and fun. This is the perfect extreme adventure gift for friends that are into bungee jumping or have been dying to try it. The gift will give them an experience they will never forget and could be the start of other extreme sporting activities.
There’s nothing like jumping off a fixed bridge, or a tower, etc. and experiencing the sensation of falling only to be pulled, or boinged back up by a big rubber band, or the real name, a bungee cord. Check out this web site for extreme bungee jumping.

I have always wanted to try bungee jumping, but never have. I like flying and skydiving better.
