Water skiing is a fun activity for people of all ages. The sport involves using water skis behind a motor boat and can be performed on lakes and other bodies of water. Water skiing can be difficult to learn at first but becomes easier with practice. More advanced skiers can perform jumps and tricks as they ski. It is a sport often used for fun and recreation. The sport can become dull to people who like to advance their skills and try new types of recreational activities.

Barefoot water skiing is a great way to add excitement if water skiing one of your favorite recreational sports. It is often referred to as barefooting and requires higher speeds. Certain equipment is needed to try this type of water skiing. It includes a barefoot wet suit that is padded and has built in floatation that eliminates the need for a life jacket. Padded shorts are not required but can add extra protection when performing certain stunts or starting in deep water.  Ropes can be made out of regular materials or special materials such as Spectra. The boat must be able to reach a speed high enough for barefoot skiing.

This type of skiing is also popular for competitions including tricks, the slalom, and length jumps. Endurance activities such as paired figure eight skiing and team endurance are also popular.
